Congressional District 3 Committee
Virginia's 3rd Congressional District is located in the eastern portion of the state and covers all of the cities of Portsmouth and Petersburg, parts of the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, and Richmond, all of Charles City, and Surry counties and parts of Henrico and Prince George counties (Ballotpedia).
Representative Scott is a member of the Democratic party and has been serving since 1993. He is the current dean of the Virginia Congressional delegation. Scott has voted progressively in the House of Representatives. He has supported increases in minimum wage and has worked to eliminate anti-LGBTQA+ bias in the workplace. Congressman Scott has also been a proponent of the Affordable Care Act.
Mission Statement of the Congressional District 3 Committee
The purpose of the Congressional District 3 (CD 3) Committee is to maintain contact with Representative Bobby Scott and his staff on a regular basis, monitor City Council meetings and state-level elections where members are constituents (to include Hampton, Newport News, Franklin, Norfolk, and Suffolk) and propose actions on issues of importance to our members. Actions could include attending city council meetings, serving on commissions and boards, assisting with elections, and voting in all elections.
Goals of CD3 include to:

- Encourage committee members' active participation in local and state politics and issues.
- Involve committee members in the CD 3 voting process at all levels.
